Clarification of Results

REVISED FOR 2008

• Single Event - Single Age Group

In these events typically there are 6 or less swimmers for the age group.

The winner of these events is determined by the finishing order of the event.

• Multiple Events (Heats) - Single Age Group

However, should there be more than 6 swimmers for the age group more than one event (heat) is required to determine the winner.

The winner for the age group is the fastest swimmer out of all the heats.

• Single Event - Multiple Age Group

In these events there are only a few swimmers for the age groups and for practical purposes they all race in the same event. This reduces the number of total events in the gala and also avoids a single swimmer having to swim by himself or herself if they are the only swimmer in that age group.

In these events there is a winner for each age group.

• Exceptions

There are events which are open to multiple age groups but where there is one overall winner. These are:

- 8 years and under Events

- 9 years and under Events

- 13 and Over Events

- Open (any age) Events

           In these events the winner is the fastest swimmer regardless of age.

• Presentation of Trophies

The winner for each age group / stroke will receive a trophy to keep for a year.

The 1st, 2nd and 3rd places for each age group / stroke will receive medals to keep

All other participants will also receive medals.

Trophies will be presented at the Presentation night.

We request that all trophies are returned to the club desk the following year before the first Annual Gala (please keep an eye out for notices).
