About Arnold Swimming Club

History

Arnold Swimming Club was formed in 1926 and was originally called Arnold and District Swimming and Life Saving Club. The Club relocated to its present Headquarters at Arnold Leisure Centre, High Street, Arnold, Nottinghamshire in 1982. Arnold is a community swimming club developing members to a competitive standard, having around 200 swimmers. The youngest swimmer is 5 and we now have a small number of "masters" swimmers.

Club Objectives

The primary objective of Arnold Swimming Club is the promotion of and instruction in the arts of swimming, competitive and championship meetings. To achieve this objective:

  • Swimmers are taught the correct techniques to maximise their potential
  • The Club provides opportunities for swimmers to take part in competitive swimming through participation in League and Cup Galas throughout the year. The club also holds its own Annual Gala for all Club swimmers to compete in.
  • Swimmers are encouraged to compete in the Nottinghamshire County Championships and Open National Galas.
  • Non-swimming members are encouraged to become qualified officials.
