Sports Centre League
Excellent night as hosts in the 1st round of the Sports Centre League in finishing 2nd only 1 point behind Sutton after winning yet another very exciting Cannon. On the night we gained 11 first places, 22 Personal Best times and 1 Club Record. The Club Record was gained by Jacob Parker, who is the 1st boy in the Club to go under 29 seconds for 50m butterfly - well done big lad!
Personal Best times were gained by the majority of the swimmers with Philip Isherwood, Katherine Driver, Josh Bramley, Charlotte Kelly, and Matt Hudswell taking over 2 seconds off their previous PB's. Well done also to 9 year olds Eleanor Hudswell, Benjamin Heath and Jack Simpson-Hallas for excellent swims in the 11 year old age group.
Arnold SC would like to thank everyone at the Club and the ever reliable Malcolm Swinburn from Kimberley SC for helping us to host the gala.

Spring Competition Round 2
Well done to all the swimmers who represented the Club in yet another tough draw in the 2nd round of the Spring Competition. It was always going to be tough particularly as we struggled with availability of 8/9 year old boys and swam 2 events for no points. However, we did finish 4th with 137 points one point ahead of Carlton Forum.
On the night we gained four 1st places with Geena Johnson winning the Butterfly and IM and Rachel Martin winning the backstroke. First place was also gained by the 14 year old girls freestyle relay where Abby Walton and Regan Jordan teamed up with Geena and Rachel to win. Geena also gained a Club Record in the IM which was a fantastic achievement after illness deprived her of competing in the last round. Well done again to our 9 years and under relay girls namely Georgia Bramley, Robyn Galloway, Rachel Brown and Hannah Davies who had two 2nd places to go with the 2 second places in the last round.
Whilst we are unlikely to get into the A final, it would be a fantastic achievement if we could get into the B final and win it and with the current squad of swimmers we are certainly capable of doing that! Let's all look forward to the final round on the 8th May!

NASL Final League Table
Following our exciting final round win at Aylesbury in December we have just received confirmation of the West Midlands Division 2 League Table. The club has finished a creditable 11th out of 24 teams which included teams from the City of Hereford, Wolverhampton, Luton, Braunstone and the City of Coventry to name but a few.
In the 3 seasons Arnold SC have now competed in the NSL we have finished as Swim-off Finalists, gained promotion from Division 3 and now consolidated our potition in Division 2. In comparison to other teams who have much larger squads of swimmers this is a fantastic achievement. The NASL remains the premier event in the country for swimming clubs, congratulations to everyone, swimmers, helpers and supporters, who have all contributed to the club's success in this competition.
Minor Gala League 2nd Round
The A team finished third with 202 points in the second round of the Minor Gala at Arnold with 7 first places gained by Grace Perry, Jack Simpson-Hallas, Alex Driver, Abby Walton, Hannah Drewett and Kiran Watkins. 6 years of .co.uk Ending
Please be aware that if you are still using the www.arnoldswimmingclub.co.uk website address that you will no longer be able to access the site this way after the 10th February. After 6 years of having a .co.uk and a .org.uk website address the Arnold Swimming Club Committee have decided that we have no need to have both and we are just going to have the one website address. If you have the website saved as a bookmark or a favourite then please make sure that it is for our www.arnoldswimmingclub.org.uk address.
If you are unsure about this then please speak to our Webmaster, David Fortescue, at any time around poolside either at training sessions or at swimming galas.
Spring Competition
Well done to all the swimmers who represented the Club in a very tough draw in the 1st round of the Spring Competition. There was very little between the top 4 Clubs after the first round of swims and eventually we finished 4th only 5 points behind CABSC. On the night we gained 7 first places, 9 Personal Bests and 3 Club Records. 14 year old Rachel Martin won all 3 of her individual events in the Open age group, Kiran Watkins added another 2 victories to go with his 3 first places last Saturday and Alex Driver also added a 1st place in the backstroke to go with his victory in the freestyle last weekend.
Particularly pleasing was the excellent performances of our 9 years and under relay swimmers with Luke Archer, Flynn Asher, Jack Simpson-Hallas and Matthew Fallon finishing 1st and 2nd in their relays and the girls Georgia Bramley, Robyn Galloway, Rachel Brown and Hannah Davies finishing 2nd in both their relay events.
Welcome and congratulations to Matthew Fallon and Jorge Phenix-Coyne who represented the Club for the first time.
Let's hope for an easier draw in Round 2 on the 6th February.

Club Swimming Hats
It is great to announce that through Sponsorship, we are now in the position to reward swimmers who represent the club at the following Inter Club Galas with a new club cap free of charge.

- National Swimming League
- Spring Competition
- Minor Gala League
- Sports Centre League
- Notts & District League
The idea behind this is two fold, firstly to bring unity to the squad of swimmers representing the Club and secondly to display a strong club togetherness through the one Club Cap.
We ask that you now wear the club cap with pride when competing in the Gala you have been selected for, and for any other Gala's, Open meets, Counties you are swimming in as an Arnold swimmer. We do not want you to swim in any other Cap while representing the Club.
To ensure fairness we will issue these free caps to those who wear caps when competing and will expect you to sign for them at the Club desk. Unfortunately we will only be able to issue 1 free cap per swimmer per season; however you can still purchase caps from the club desk.
Please use your old style caps Blue or Black for training along with any other caps types/designs and keep your yellow cap for competitions. The best way to ensure it stays in good condition is to wash it out in cold tap water when it has been used and then to dry it with a towel.
Many of you have already purchased official club kit which you wear both on poolside and to and from events, everyone looks fantastic and part of the team which is the whole point of "One" kit for all.
