2009 - Arnold Swimming Club Round Up

2009 has been a great year for Arnold Swimming Club, from getting into Division 2 of the National Swimming League to even more of our swimmers being accepted into Nova.
On top of this we have intensified our training scheme and the benefits have shown. Together we have swam in a total of 57 Gala competitions over 38 weekends of the year.
From these competitions we have claimed an amazing 233 1st Places, 118 Club Records and 1245 Personal Best Times have been set.
In achieving all of this we have successfully completed 244,325m of competitive swimming (this does not include the coaches challenge)!!

We hope that you have all had a great year finished off with a brilliant Christmas. Arnold Swimming Club would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year and we look forward to seeing you in 2010 where hopefully we can continue with the Clubs success.

European Short Course Swimming Championships in Istanbul

Congratulations to Sasha Matthews who represented Great Britain in the 13th European Short Course Championship in Turkey on 10 – 13 December. Swimming in the final of the Women’s 800m Freestyle, Sasha took nine seconds off her personal best with a time of 8:26.05 to finish in fifth place. "I'm really happy with that," said Sasha. "A nine second PB, you can't really ask for more." When competing in her second final of the Championships, Sasha lined up in the Women's 400m Freestyle. Touching in a personal best time of 4:04.74 Sasha finished in seventh place. "It was good out there," said Sasha, who made up three places on her qualifying position. "That last 100m I really put my foot down and I got another PB."

National Swimming League

Huge congratulations to all of our swimmers who competed in the National Swimming League last night. It was a long journey all the way down to Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire to swim in the final round of the 2009 league.

With one our swimmers, Geena, falling very ill before the gala but still making the journey all the way down to Aylesbury and competing in the relay events our swimmers came away with 5 Club Records set by Mitchell Jordan, Rachel Martin, our Boys Open Medley Team and also our Girls 15years Freestyle Team. Personal Best times were set by Alex Driver, Rachel Martin, Joseph Dames, Mitchell Jordan and Katherine Driver. At one of the closest galas Arnold have ever competed in we got 13 1st places, some were gained by only 0.01 of a second, Arnold came home victorious claiming 1st place with 197 points, just one point ahead of 2nd and 3rd place who were tied with 196 points. Well done to everyone and Thank You to all of our officials and helpers who also made the journey to support Arnold.
Results can be found in the members section.

13th December 2009

Notts and District

On the night we finished 5th with 160 points. There were some excellent swims considering we only had one Open swimmer and the oldest girl was 14 years of age. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Chris Brown who was unable to compete due to injury whilst playing rugby earlier in the day. First places were achieved by Charlotte Kelly, Ben Hewett and James Shelton. Personal best times were set by Sam Newton, Anna Lambert, Matthew Tomlin, Kyle Yates, Ben Solis, Danielle Fallon, Joshua Holland, Charlotte Kelly and James Shelton. Well done to all the swimmers and officials who helped out on the evening.
Results can be found in the members section.

6th December 2009

Sports Centre League

Fantastic performance by all the swimmers in winning the final round of the Sports Centre League and finishing 3rd in the League overall. On the night we gained 23 first places, 14 PBs and 1 Club Record. We came first in over half the events! The Club Record was gained by Alex Driver in the 50m butterfly (11 year). The Club has a history of producing excellent butterfly swimmers and to take this Club Record was a fantastic achievement - well done Alex!

On the night it was a fantastic team effort that gained us victory - where do we start?

Personal Best times were gained by Hannah Rotton, Ella Poyzer, Charlotte Kelly, Ben Hewett, Josh Bramley, Amy Tribbick, Natalie Bacon, Chris Brown, Hannah Drewett and Josh Holland. Many of these swimmers also gained County Qualifying times as did Emma Davies, Jack Simpson-Hallas, Sascha McLaren and the “old timers” David Fortescue and James Shelton.

The 8/9 year old relay swimmers, namely Hannah Davies, Georgia Bramley, Jack Simpson-Hallas and Benjamin Heath won all their relay events.

Well done to Charlotte Kelly, who after recently becoming Swimmer of the Month, gained PBs in all the events she competed in.

The Club would like to extend its considerable thanks to all the coaches at Arnold Swimming Club who have worked tirelessly with the swimmers on technique and stamina to allow the swimmers to continue to gain PBs through out a long hard season!

Good luck to all the swimmers next week-end when we compete in the final round of National Swimming League and Notts and District!

See you all at the presentation evening on 9th December at Arnold Working Mens Club - 7.30pm.
Results can be found in the Members section.

Gedling Sports Awards 2009

The Annual Gedling Sports Forum awards presentation evening took place at Wheldon Sports College on Thursday evening.
The Sports awards are special awards and tributes to those who have achieved beyond expectations in the Gedling area. The awards are presented in 21 categories from Junior Sportsman and Sportswoman to Sports Club/Team and 'Changing Lifestyles' awards spread across a range of sports including swimming, football, cricket, rowing and badminton, just to mention a few.
Arnold Swimming Club had 6 members nominated for Awards. With hundreds of young sports persons and clubs in the Gedling area, to be shortlisted for an awards is a huge achievement in itself.
Congratulations to:

Jacob Parker (Achievement in Disability Sport) - Over the last year Jacob has represented the East Midlands in the DSE in Swansea and Sheffield winning many Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals when competing against swimmers who are older than him. He also competed in the DSE Junior Championship gaining a staggering 9 Golds and he was the youngest swimmer in his disability classification to compete in the Senior DSE event in May 2009.

Graham Davies (Club Coach of the Year) - Graham is a Level 2 coach who coaches swimmers every night of the week and Sunday evenings. He organises and coaches approximately 30 swimmers in an Olympic sized swimming pool at Loughborough every month and is Newsletter Editor at the Club. He has recently sourced new kit for the Club including hoodies and kit bags and has played a pivotal role with improving this years Club Championships. To win this award is a fantastic achievement when you consider how many coaches there are in Gedling Borough!

Sasha Matthews (Junior Sports Woman of the Year 16 - 21 AND overall Sports Person of the year) - it has been another fantastic year for Sasha after gaining a bronze medal in the World Cup in Stockholm when representing Great Britain and a Gold Medal in the Senior Scottish Championships when competing in the 400m freestyle. Sasha also finished 4th in the trials for the World Championships behind Rebecca Adlington and Jo Jackson both of whom broke the World Record.

A Huge congratulations not only to those people who were successful in winning awards but to everyone who was shortlisted for an award. The standard of nominations in 2009 was incredibly high as indicated by the fact that Rohan Watkins and Rachel Martin, both of who have competed at National Level, did not win the award in their respective categories. A huge well done to David Fortescue for getting shortlisted in the Volunteer of the Year category which again is a fantastic achievement when you consider how many volunteers there are in Gedling Borough!

24th November 2009

DSE British Short Course

This weekend saw Jacob Parker competing again at Ponds Forge in the DSE British Short Course Championships. Jacob had a fantastic weekend coming away with a silver and 3 bronze medals!
Jacob was on form swimming against older S14 swimmers, some being more than twice his age and mostly GB team swimmers. The only people to beat jacob was the S14 european gold and silver medalists.
Jacob took part in 6 events over the course of the two days. These being the 100m Free - in a time of 1:00.21, the 100m IM - in a time of 1:13.60, the 100m Fly - in a time of 1:08.70, the 200m IM - in a time of 2:38.59, the 50m Fly - in a time of 29.38, and finally the 50m Free - in a time of 27.33.

A fantastic achievement seeing Jacob as one of the youngest swimmers in the open category. The weekend finished off with the great news that the S14's are now allowed back in the 2012 paralympics! A full statement can be read on the DSE website. Thanks go out to all at Arnold Swimming Club and the NOVA Squad for there ongoing support for Jacob. Bring on 2012!

The team were up against schools from Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Leicestershire and of course Nottinghamshire. They came first in both Freestyle and Medley relays giving them a good chance to reach the finals where the fastest 16 teams for each event meet to do battle! The full team consisted of Charlotte Kelly, Abby Walton, Mia Sallis, Kate Sallis.

Notts and District - Round 2

This was a long evening and a big thank you to the Tribbick’s, Holland’s, the ever reliable Malcolm Swinburn (Kimberly SC) who was one of the referees and all the other Club swimmers who were delayed getting to Worksop as a result of an accident on the M1.
Although we had no first places, Ben Hewett finished 2nd in the backstroke and had another excellent evening after recently gaining Swimmer of the Month. The Club were affected by availability of the younger boys and a big thanks to Thomas and William Hamilton and Jack Simpson-Hallas who were our only available 11 years and under boys. PB’s were set by Luke Mansell, Ella Mansell, Megan Perry, Chantelle Cliff and Ella Poyzer.

Thanks should also be extended to Worksop LC and Swimming Club for providing such excellent facilities. Although the electronic timing system was not used it is available provided Clubs have someone who is able to operate the system. Worksop SC would be delighted to show other Clubs how the system works on either a Wednesday or Sunday evening. Anyone from Arnold SC who is interested should contact us via the contact page. Interested parties from other Clubs should contact Worksop SC directly - link can be obtained here.

15th November 2009

National Swimming League - Round 2

Our team were at Coventry 50m pool a first for Arnold as a club to compete as a team in this environment. Again a coach trip of one and a half hours to get to the swimming pool. The 50m pool could have been quite daunting for our younger swimmers and I am sure made the heart beat a little faster.
On the night we were up against Luton, Braunstone, Shrewsbury, Redditch and City of Coventry “B” all of which where higher than us in the league!
Again the relays showed our weakness in depth and a few drop outs at the last minute made us drop the boys 11 yr relay team, after the first 10 relays we were in 6th place. The individual races proved different, with first places to:
Girls 15 yr free relay team
Jacob Parker 15yr 100 fly
Rachel Martin 15yr 100 free
Mitch Jordan 15yr 100 free
Abby Walton 13yr 100 free
Again a host of seconds and thirds (see results).
A big mention to George Rayers who swam his first NASL gala and instantly fitted in with the team, well done George!
On the night against very strong opposition we finished in joint 5th place
Bring on the last round and lets hope for a result to keep us in the second division!!
A big thanks to parents / swimmers and officials for once again putting an X-Factor night on hold.

Minor Gala League Round 2 - B Team

In the 2nd round of the Minor Gala the B team finished in a creditable 5th place to say we had half a team, even less than the 1st round. In all there were 11 PB's, those being Ella Rotton, Kate Huxtable, William Huxtable, Jordan Yates, Holly Redfern and Chloe Harrison. Out of those Chloe and Ella took off at least four seconds off their PB times, which is fantastic. Congratulations to Holly Whitehall, Holly Redfern, Kate Huxtable and William Huxtable for competing in their first gala.

Also a mention to Finlay Haywood and Kate Huxtable, who both lost their goggles but carried on to finish their races.

Well done to all swimmers for their excellent swims, it was a most enjoyable gala to see. Also thanks should go to the helpers supporting the gala, some being very last minute, these being Sean Harrison, Debbie Burton, David Fortescue, James Shelton, Jacob Parker, Victoria Kelly, Ben Hewitt, Dave Holland, Tony Parker and Teresa Kelly.

Results can be found in the members section.

10th October 2009

National Swimming League - Round 1

The first round of the newly named National Arena Swimming League took place Today.

Our team were at Leamington Spa! Unfortunately not just down the road and so we had a coach trip of 2 hours to get to the swimming pool.
During the week our team suffered from the flu virus with five swimmers unfit to swim. We wish them a quick recovery and hope to see them in training soon.
Now on to the night’s events. Swimming against Rykneld, Camphill Edwardians “A”, Luton, Aylesbury & District and Kingsbury, we knew the task would be great, but the team pulled together to give a great performance. The relays showed our weakness with swimmers missing and after the first 10 relays we were in 5th place. The individual races proved different, with first places to Alex Driver and Jacob Parker and a hat full of 2nds and 3rds, along with 14 personnel best times. We kept within 2 points of 3rd place right until the end of the gala. All the swimmers and parents commented on how close it was and next time it will be a different story! A big thanks to all for making it a fantastic gala to be at and next time with luck it will be just as noisy but with a better result!

10th October 2009

Notts and District - Round 1

Despite finishing 6th on the night, the result is still one to be proud of, with 16 Personal Best times, and some impressive individual and relay swims.

Well done to Ben Hewitt who swam his 50m Freestyle in under 30 seconds, and to Chantelle Cliff who took 2 seconds off her 50m Breaststroke PB. Congratulations to Michael Smith, Megan Solis, Benjamin Solis, Laura Shelton, David Fortescue, Adriano Staiano, Joshua Holland, Danielle Fallon and Bethany Archer who also set personal best times.

Although the above swimmers get a mention in the Gala report it was a fantastic team effort and ALL swimmers should be congratulated on their performances in collecting 6 County Qualifying Times.

Results can be found in the Members section.

8th October 2009

Annual Gala Results

The long awaited Annual Gala Results from the first night have now been sorted and are in the members area.

28th September 2009

Whiting Trophy

On the night we finished 3rd, only 3 points behind a very strong Mansfield A, and ahead of the City of Sheffield team. The result is all the more amazing as the oldest girl was 14 years of age and only 1 boy was over 15. There were individual 1st places for Rohan Watkins, Mitchell Jordan and Rachel Martin and Club Records for Rohan Watkins, Jacob Parker, the boys 15 years and under freestyle and medley relay teams and the Boys open medley relay team. A big well done to the boys relay swimmers namely, Chris Brown, Mitchell Jordan, Kyle Walton, Jacob Parker, Rohan Watkins and David Staiano.

Well done to Alex Driver for going under 40 seconds for 50m butterfly for the first time and to Natalie Bacon for going under 34 seconds for 50m freestyle also for the first time! Congratulations also to Liam Brown and Regan Jordan for also setting personal best times.

Although the above swimmers get a mention in the Gala report it was a fantastic team effort and ALL swimmers should be congratulated on their performances in collectively gaining a staggering 28 County Qualifying times!

Results can be found in the Members section.

20th September 2009

Minor Gala League

In the 1st round of the Minor Gala the A team finished 3rd with 6 1st places and 14 PB's. 1st places were gained by Hannah Drewett, Kiran Watkins, the 9 year old boys relay (Luke Archer, Benjamin Heath, Joshua Mageira and Jack Simpson-Hallas) and the girls 11 year old relay (Natalie Bacon, Kirsten Gilding, Hannah Drewett and Ella Mageira). Hannah Drewett won both her individual events as did the boys 9 year old relay team. Congratulations to Hannah Davies who represented the Club for the first time.

Well done to 9 year old, Jack Simpson-Hallas who went under 40seconds for 50m freestyle when competing in the event for the first time and claiming a County Time for his efforts.

The B Team was badly affected by many swimmers not being available and the Team finished a creditable 5th in the Gala at Hucknall. Personal best times were achieved for Philip Isherwood, Matthew Gomersall, Chantelle Cliff, Sam Newton, Abbie Marrow, Ysanne Davey, Thomas Hewett, Jordan Yates, Chloe Harrison and Robyn Galloway. Congratulations to Robyn Galloway and Sam Newton who represented the Club for the first time and to Matthew Gomersall for gaining a County Qualifying time.

Well done to all swimmers for their excellent swims! Results can be found in the Members section.

15th September 2009

Swimmers - What NOT to wear

For those of you who were not at Arnold last night, and just to remind those of you who were.

FINA have brought into place two new rules that affect all swimmers throughout the world who compete in any gala competiton. These rules are:

  • No swimmer is allowed to wear more than one swimming costume at any one time during a swimming competition
  • No Swimmer is allowed to wear any costume that covers the arms or lower legs of the swimmer. (from January 1st)

The ASA will adopt these laws and they will affect all of our swimmers. If you are caught breaking either of these rules you will be disqualified and you could even get the whole team disqualified. If you would like clarification on these rules then please visit the FINA website or talk to one of your coaches on poolside.

12th September 2009

Sports Centre League

Fantastic performance by all the swimmers and arguably one of the most exciting cannons the Club has ever competed in and we won it! On the night we finished in equal 1st place with Sutton with the swimmers achieving 1 Club Record, 23 personal best times and 11 first places. Jacob Parker set a Club Record in the 50m butterfly going under 30 seconds for the first time.

Congratulations to Natalie Bacon, Liam Brown and Charlotte Kelly all of who took over 4 seconds off their PB times and to Alex Driver, Hannah Drewett, Amy Tribbick and Jacob Parker who won both of their individual races and set PB’s. Personal best times were also set by Ella Poyzer, Katherine Driver, Laura Shelton, Ben Hewett, Victoria Kelly, Josh Holland and the 'old' boys David Fortescue and James Shelton. Arguably the gutsiest performance on the night was from Megan Perry who lost her goggles on the first length of the 100m freestyle and still completed the race setting a personal best time – well done Megan!

In the mixed 9 years relay team the tenacious Jack Simpson-Hallas and Thomas Hamilton swam very well complementing the more experienced Georgia Bramley and Eleanor Hudswell.

Well done to all swimmers for their excellent swims! Results can be found in the Members section.

8th September 2009

Jubilee Trophy Gala

Two teams competed in the Jubilee Trophy Gala at Hucknall on 5th September. The A Team finished 2nd behind very strong CABSC and the B Team finished a very creditable 5th.
In the A team there were 18 First Places, 19 Personal Best times and 4 Club Records. Congratulations to Mitchell Jordan who set a Club Record in the 14 years 50m butterfly when representing the Club for the first time. Club records were also set by Rachel Martin, the boys 14 years freestyle relay team (Rohan and Kiran Watkins, Ben Hewitt and Mitchell Jordan) and the girls Open freestyle relay team (Geena Johnson, Emma Davies, Rachel Martin and Sasha Matthews). The latter Club Record is perhaps surprising as only one of the swimmers was an Open Swimmer!
In the B team there were 17 Personal Best times with Abbie Marrow, Luke Mansell and Amy Tribbick taking over 3 seconds off their previous PB’s. Although there were no first places there were 2 second places for Abby Walton and Alex Driver and a total of 9 County Qualifying times achieved by swimmers. Congratulations also go to Regan Jordan who represented the Club for the first time.
Well done to all swimmers from both teams for their excellent swims! Results from both teams can be found in the Members section.

UK School Games

Great news again for Jacob Parker and Arnold Swimming Club this weekend in the UK School Games which have been taking place in Swansea.

Jacob was swimming in the 100m fly which he won!! Claiming the gold medal. It's the first time Jacob has swum in the UK School Games. Jacob swam the competition representing the England Central Team who went on to win the team trophy.
Jacob had a very hard swim due to his goggles falling over his nose from the dive which we all know makes breathing very difficult, but he carried on regardless. A gutsy swim over the 50m pool in a time of 1.09:88.

Jacob Parker

On behalf of Arnold Swimming Club, we would like to congratulate all who took part in the games and especially to Jacob, our own School Games champion!
Jacob also set a new s14 100m Fly UK School Games record, not bad with his goggles around his nose!

We would also like to thank all at Arnold and Dave Palmer at NOVA for there ongoing support.
With special thanks to BILL HOPKINS, COLIN WALTON, JIM SHELTON and DAVID FORTESCUE for helping with some last minute problems which would have seen Jacob not swimming this weekend, Along with this we would also like to send special thanks to WENDY COLES and an angel at British Swimming CAROLYN WADE. Without you all Jacob could not have achieved anything this weekend.
Finally we would like to thank ROB CLARKE who did a fantastic job getting Jacob ready for this event.

Annual Galas 2009

Arnold Swimming Club Championships are taking place this year over 3 nights, 3rd October, 7th and 28th November. The Annual Club Championships are a set of swimming competitions where Arnold Swimming Club Members compete against each other to gain Personal Best Times, Club Records and Trophies. Although the galas are designed to get our club members competing against one another we remind everyone that these are also fun events as winning isn’t everything.
We encourage EVERYONE to enter the Annual Club Championships in as many events as they feel comfortable in entering. The structure of events is now available to view in the members area along with the notice board on poolside at Arnold Leisure Centre. Entries will cost £3.00 per gala night regardless of how many events are to be swum in that night.
Your lane coach will be discussing these with you over the next few days to advise you on which events to enter. Full entry forms will be available from the club desk from Thursday 3rd September or alternatively you can print off from the members area. Your lane coach will also hand you a form with recommendations for the events to enter. When you hand the entry form back into the club desk, BOTH of these forms should be handed in along with full payment.
Established gala swimmers do not necessarily need to discuss the events to enter with their lane coach.
All entries need to be handed in no later than the closing date of Friday 18th September.
Thank You to the families who have kindly agreed to sponsor the 100m event trophies for the 12years and under age groups. If anyone else would like to sponsor any other trophies as we still have a lot that are unsponsored please contact us via the contact page as soon as possible.
If you have any queries about the Annual Club Championships then please do not hesitate in speaking with David Fortescue or Jim Shelton at the club on club nights. If you need further discussions about which events to enter please consult your lane coach BEFORE or AFTER a training session.

Europeen Youth Olympics - Update

We have just recieved great news that Rachel has just swam in the mixed 4x200m Freestyle Relay. Rachel swam second helping the GB team claim the SILVER medal.

20th July 2009

Europeen Youth Olympics

NOTTINGHAM swimmers Rachel Martin and Natasha Hofton enjoyed a successful opening to their European Youth Olympic Festival campaigns as they both landed bronze in Finland.
Rachel and Natasha – who both train with double Olympic champion Rebecca Adlington – made up half of the Team GB 4x100m freestyle relay team which claimed the final spot on the podium at the Tampere Swimming Centre.
Natasha swam an impressive second leg as she clocked 59.81 seconds before handing over to our Arnold Swimmer Rachel Martin who touched the wall in 59.03 seconds.
Amelia Maughan got Team GB off to a flier before Kathryn Woolston-Thomas cruised past the German team on the final sprint to secure third in a combined time of 3.53.79 minutes.

"I didn't think we would get the bronze medal at the end but Kathryn really pulled it out of the bag.
"We were screaming for her to pull it back and thankfully she did and we managed to get the medal.
"I was pretty pleased with how the heat went – we got through to the final and that was all that mattered really.
"I really wanted to pick my pace up and swim faster and as a team I think we were happy with how it went."

Rachel will now compete in the 4x200m mixed relay while Natasha turns her attention to individual events as she goes for gold in the 100m and 200m backstroke double.

"It's the first time I've been abroad with the team and I am really enjoying it, I didn't feel any nerves before I swam which I found quite strange but I'm sure they'll come later in the week."

added Rachel.

These are open to all swimmers in the Club including small pool swimmers.

DSE World Championships - Jacob Parker

This weekend saw the best disabled category S14 swimmers in the world take part in the British International DSE Championships at Ponds Forge in Sheffield from the 15th to the 17th May.
Again Jacob was the youngest S14 swimmer at the Championships and only turning 14 four weeks ago, Jacob had to be at his very best over the weekend just to make the B finals.
Jacob was only expected to reach two B finals but Jacob being Jacob, B finals were not good enough. After weeks of training and thanks to Rob, Bill and all the team at Arnold, along with Dave Palmer, Jacobs Coach at NOVA, he was up for it.
The First day was always going to be the hardest starting with the 200m IM heats. Jacob swam a new PB of 2.43.89 taking 2 seconds off his previous PB Time and made the A final! where he broke his PB again with a time of 2.42.63, and finished in 5th place, where some of the swimmers were 5, 6 and 7 years older than him. Jacob also beat 4 GB squad members in the A final.
Then came the 100m Back. Jacob swam 1.18.59 in the heat and again made the A final and broke his PB again in a time of 1.17.59 finishing 6th.
Then came the 100m Free heats. Jacob swam a 1.04.00 and made the A final (again!!) and broke his PB (again!!) with a time of 1.03.31, finishing in 6th place. A fantastic end to the first day.
Sundays first event was the 100m Fly heat. Jacob completed the heat in a time of 1.09.93 and again made the A final.
In the final Jacob got a time of 1.09.82, another PB finishing in 6th place. Next was the 50m Free. Jacobs time was 28.53 and again made the A final, in which Jacob finished in 7th place, with a time of 28.49, another new PB.
Over the weekend Jacob made all 5 A finals! A great achievement for him being the youngest S14 swimmer there.
Jacob has now been chosen to go on the "Playground to Podium" World Class Pathway. This weekend Jacob has also been chosen to represent the central region at the School Games in Cardiff. The School Games will take place in September and Jacob will be swimming the 100m Fly.
Great news for Jacob and Arnold Swimming Club.
Jacobs parents would like to thank everyone at Arnold and the NOVA DSE squad for their ongoing support. Without it none of this would be possible.

NOTTS ASA COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS 2009

This weekend sees the start of the Nottinghamshire ASA County Championships and Arnold is proud to have 24 swimmers taking part. These Championships are a really important part of the swimming calendar and it should be the aim of all swimmers 9 years and above within the club to try to achieve the qualifying times so that they can take part.
The Championships are held over a number of weekends and contain events in all strokes from 50 Metre sprints to the 1500 Metre Freestyle event.
Success at this event is not only good for the profile for the swimmer and the club but can also act as the starting point for invitations onto the Nottinghamshire County Elite Swim Squad NOVA.
Good luck to the following swimmers who are taking part this year:
Bethany Archer, Natalie Bacon, Josh Bramley, Liam Brown, Emma Davies, Joseph Dames, Hannah Drewett, Alex Driver, Katherine Driver, Danielle Fallon, Kirsten Gilding, Benjamin Heath, Geena Johnson, Rachel Martin, Sascha McLaren, Jacob Parker, Ella Rotton, Hannah Rotton, David Staiano, Amy Tribbick, Abby Walton, Kyle Walton, Kiran Watkins, Rohan Watkins.
Swim Fast, support each other and enjoy being part of a great team.
