Christmas Disco
			Well its that time of year again when the night rolls in very quickly and we know that Christmas is well on its way. Arnold Swimming Clubs Christmas Disco this year will be held at the Arnold Working Mens Club on the 5th December. The start time is 7:30pm. Admission will be by Ticket only. Tickets will be £1 for swimmers, £1.50 for children and O.A.P’s, and £2 for Adults. Tickets are now available from all swimming venues.
	News
	Continued success for Sasha Matthews. The Notts County Council Swimmer of the Year Trophy can only be won once by a swimmer on the County Council Swim Squad and is presented to the swimmer who has made the most improvement and achieved commendable results over the previous 12 months. This year the Trophy has been awarded to Sasha Matthews. Sasha took an individual bronze medal at the European Junior Championships in the 400m Freestyle lowering her personal best time considerably in both the heat and the final. Sasha then helped the Great Britain team to a gold medal as part of the 4x200m Freestyle team. Sasha then returned immediately to the National Championships in Sheffield and took a silver medal in the Junior 200m Freestyle event. Sasha was also a member of our gold-winning 4x200m Freestyle team at the National Championships. Club assigns new chairman. With the resignation of Arnold Swimming Clubs chairman, Colin Walton, back in September, the clubs committee have now appointed a new chairman. The Clubs new chairman with immediate effect is Jim Shelton. Most of you will know Jim as he has had a huge involvement within the club from helping to organise our gala squads, Organising the club desk and being the clubs membership secretary. We feel that Jim will have a lot more to offer the club with this new role and wish him the best of luck. As Jim moves into his new role as Chairman the committee have elected that David Fortescue will take over Jim’s old role as Membership Secretary from the 1st April 2008. David has also been involved with the club for many years now moving from swimmer, club captain, and currently organises the results from swimming galas along with the clubs website. David will take on this challenging job next year as he hopes to develop his role within the club and committee.
	Results
			Over the last 3 months our swimmers have taken part in numerous swimming galas, and with outstanding performance they have achieved great success. Back in September Arnold Swimming Club hosted its Jubilee gala at Arnold Leisure Centre, entering two teams we managed to claim 1st and 5th places, gaining a grand total of 22 1st places, 37 Personal Best Times and 4 Club Records. Following on from this success in our own trophy gala, Arnold entered a mixed ability team into the Peter Pink Trophy Gala. Our swimmers were up against some tough opponents, and claimed 6th place with 2 1st places
	and 15 PB Times set. After the completion of the trophy galas for the 2007 season, Our swimmers entered the final stage of the 2007 gala season with the start of the Autumn round of the Nottinghamshire League galas. This League season started off with the Minor Gala League. With great success last year and in the spring season earlier this year, and with Arnold’s growing number of members we decided to enter two teams. In the first round our two teams claimed 2nd and 5th places in their respective galas, gaining a grand total of 7 1st places, 27 PB Times and 1 Club Record.
			In the Second round our swimmers continued to impress everyone, claiming 3rd and 5th place in the two teams galas. Achieving 8 1st places, 19 PB Times and 2 Club Records. These results placed our younger swimmers into the B and D finals of the league where our swimmers continued to exceed expectations, claiming a 5th place in the D final and WINNING the B final. Claiming a staggering total of 19 1st places, 19 PB Times and 3 Club Records. With the success of our younger swimmers in the Minor Gala League it was time for our older swimmers to prove what they can do. This season Arnold Swimming Club felt that our swimmers had developed up to the standard to enter a team into the Speedo League. The Speedo League is run on the same nights as the Notts & District League. So with our senior squad split into two and a new challenge we just wanted our swimmers to do their best, and
